Asia Rhines is a vibrant 23-year-old mother and dental assistant who has always been full of life and deeply caring toward others. She worked at a dental office in Bogalusa, Louisiana, where she loved helping people every day. After giving birth to her daughter in November, Asia began experiencing serious health issues. In June, she became ill and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Most recently, on August 16, she suffered a stroke that has left her unable to use her right side and struggling with aphasia, making communication difficult. Asia’s world has changed dramatically in just a few months. She has lost her job and is now unable to care for her 9-month-old daughter on her own. The road ahead will be long and challenging, with extensive physical and speech therapy needed for her recovery. The financial strain of mounting medical bills, daily living expenses, and transportation to and from appointments is overwhelming for our family. I firmly believe that a closed mouth will never receive help, so I’m reaching out for help because I believe in the power of community support.
